What is wellness?

Wellness is a conscious, deliberate, interactive and dynamic process, a journey of becoming aware of and practicing healthy choices and create a more successful and balanced lifestyle. Wellness includes all aspects of physical, psychological and social well-being, including health, health promotion, and disease prevention.

Wellness is not merely the absence of illness or distress. It is a lifelong process of making decisions that support a more balanced life to maximize your potential.

What do you do as wellness coach?

As a certified wellness coach I was taught to apply core competencies of coaching psychology drawn from evidence-based behavioral psychology, counseling, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, adult learning theory, and solution-oriented therapy. I assist the client in identifying strengths and values, transforming them into action, and maintaining lasting change over time. I partner in dynamic collaboration with clients, respecting the client as the expert in navigating his/her own life, using a strength-based focus and strong grounding in best practice. I help clients identify the areas in their lives that they want to change or improve and help them create a plan to get there. I then provide structure, accountability, expertise and inspiration to enable clients to grow, increase self-awareness, commitment and confidence beyond what they can achieve on their own.

What is the wellness assessment and how does it work?

As you start your wellness journey, a more thorough inventory of your current wellness might be wise. The wellness assessment allows you to get more of an actual measurement of where you are today, a baseline. Knowing truly where you are today, we can measure later to see what progress you have made.

A comprehensive wellness assessment can also be a great learning experience for you as client and help create awareness to develop your individualized wellness vision and plan.

By applying the wellness assessment, you become aware of the interconnectedness of each wellness dimension and how they contribute to healthy living.

The wellness assessment will help you:

  • Recognize and address your entire wellness
  • Affirm and mobilize your positive qualities and strengths
  • Ignites the connection between today’s situation and your future wellness vision
  • Enhance deeper work on your self and greater self-awareness
  • Create self-efficacy for lasting behavioral and lifestyle changes to reach your full potential

Do I need to meet with you in person?

We can meet via phone, video chat or in person. In fact, most clients meet by phone. You can use the time you saved to accomplish some of your goals.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please read the Cancellation/Rescheduling/No Show/Refund Policies carefully.
Be sure to ask me to explain anything that you do not understand or that you may have concerns about.

Your appointment is a time that is reserved for you.
Your understanding and adherence to this policy is greatly appreciated. 

Cancellation Policy

A cancellation occurs when you cancel the reserved appointment with less than 48 hours notice regardless if another appointment is scheduled and will be charged the full amount for the session.

Rescheduling Policy

Rescheduling occurs when you cancel the reserved appointment at least 48 hours in advance and schedule an appointment at another time.

No Show Policy

Sessions that are "No Show" with no notice of cancellation are charged the full amount of the session.

Refund Policy

I do not offer any refunds for services that have already been delivered.
I want you to be 100% satisfied with your coaching experience. I also understand that life sometimes gets in the way of even our best intentions. If you sign up for a package and find you are dissatisfied with your coaching experience or that coaching is simply not for you at this time, I will refund your money, for sessions not yet used,  at any point with no questions asked.

All refunds will be electronically delivered within 7-10 business days.
Packages are not transferable.

Monthly Payments: Participation and payment are based on full months. No pro-rated refund shall be made for partial months’ coaching completed.

As a coach do you tell me what to do?

No. Though there are times we all wish someone had all the answers, only you know what is best for you and your lifestyle. As your coach will listen and support you. I will also ask you questions that will help you define and clarify your thinking and your goals. In the end, the choices that you make for yourself are the most powerful. You are in the driver seat.

What if I'm unsure about wellness coaching?

A wellness coach may not be the right fit for you. Sometimes, I may refer you to another professional or resource before we even get started. And, sometimes during the course of our work together, I may refer you to another professional or resource. I want you to succeed.

What should I expect at the end of my sessions?

You should expect to walk away with achieving your wellness vision, your priority goals and new strategies about your wellness and a more balanced life. You should gain a sense of clarity that will help you make your healthiest choices in life. Many times clients are not sure what a wellness coach can do for them at the beginning of their sessions. After just a few sessions though, clients typically say how thankful they are that they took the time to invest in themselves.

How do I choose a wellness coach to work with?

When you set out to find a coach, here are some very important factors to consider:

Look for a Certified Professional

I strongly believe that you should only talk with individuals who have training and certifications from reputable coaching programs. Since there is no state licensing, it is not illegal for anyone to call himself or herself a coach.

Choose a Coach You Connect With

The coach-to-client relationship is very personal, so it is important that you connect with your coach emotionally. There should be a strong sense that this is someone you like, can trust, and has your best interests in mind. If you sense that you are being judged, or told what to do, run the other way. Listen to your gut; it will tell you when you have found a good match.
